Radiation Therapy Upgrades Complete in Riverside - Vantage Oncology Upgrades Facility and Radiation Therapy Equipment at Vantage Oncology at Riverside Radiation Therapy Center Increasing Patient Access to State-of-the-Art Treatments

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (February 22, 2006) –Vantage Oncology, Inc., an El Segundo, Calif.-based developer and operator of state-of-the-art radiation oncology centers, announced that it has completed facility and equipment upgrades to its Vantage Oncology at Riverside Radiation Therapy Center.

Vantage Oncology has committed an investment of $3 million in new radiation treatment equipment and facility upgrades. The state-of-the-art technology brings patients increased access to advanced treatment options and includes a Varian Clinac© 21 EX Linear Accelerator in addition to its existing Varian 2100C Linear Accelerator, a Varian Varis Record and Verify System and a Varian Eclipse Treatment Planning System. Simulations are performed on a GE CT Scanner. The center can treat patients with Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), 3D Conformal radiation therapy and High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy. These advanced clinical treatment options permit precise targeting of radiation to a tumor, sparing critical normal organs, providing for better outcomes and fewer side effects for patients. The facility upgrades include a cancer education center that is now open and available to the public.

Ramez Farah, M.D., Medical Director of Vantage Oncology at Riverside Radiation Therapy Center, has been providing physician services at the center since 2000. He has expertise in IMRT with a special interest in the treatment of gynecological cancers using High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy. Dr. Farah works with the support of Valley Radiotherapy Associates Medical Group (VRA), which provides professional clinical services to many Vantage Oncology centers and has been a leader in radiation oncology in Southern California for more than 20 years.

“We are pleased to provide the Riverside area with increased access to the latest in radiation therapy technology,” said Michael Fiore, Chief Executive Officer of Vantage Oncology. “Those who receive treatment at our newly renovated Riverside center can expect to be provided with superior care in a convenient and comfortable setting.”

“VRA is dedicated to supporting Dr. Farah and providing Riverside with the highest quality patient care,” said Leslie Botnick, M.D., Chief Medical Officer of Vantage Oncology and President of VRA. “Vantage Oncology’s commitment to providing the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, in combination with the collective expertise and experience of our physicians in Riverside and the greater Inland Empire area, will allow us to continue our mission of providing patients with access to the most advanced clinical treatment options.”

Vantage Oncology’s four radiation oncology centers located in Riverside, San Bernardino, Temecula and Wildomar greatly benefit health plans, referring physicians, and their patients, by providing comprehensive radiation therapy services to the Inland Empire.
